How We’re Different

Your home is one of the greatest, most rewarding, and most important investments you will ever make in your life. Would you trust the care of your home’s comfort and overall environment to just anybody?

Most companies when servicing your homes comfort system, will only address the equipment itself. At Precision Comfort, we believe the home itself is just as much of a part of your comfort system as the system itself (in most cases, even more so). Thats why, when we perform maintenance or repairs, our proprietary multi point inspection not only maintains the equipment, but the pipework/ducting, as well as how the whole home interacts with it.

With this in mind, the air in your home is also part of this system. How clean your air is, is a huge factor in how you can enjoy being in your home, year-round.

It’s no secret that indoor air can be much more polluted than outdoor air. According to the American Lung Association, through this article, indoor air can be as little as 2-5 times, and as much as 100 times more polluted than outside air. Exchanging outside air in a controller manner is the absolute, best way to maintain a clean and healthy environment. Having proper filtration is also instrumental in making sure the air circulating in the home stays clear of foreign contaminants, as well as maintaining the well-being of your comfort system as a whole. Inversely, unwanted air getting into your home, colloquially named ‘infiltration’, can wreak havoc on your system’s effectiveness, efficiency, and longevity.

As explained above, your heating and air conditioning system (HVAC system) is much more than just some piece of equipment that turns on and magically makes your house warm or cool. The home’s ability to retain (or keep out) the heat, ability to breathe, and ability to keep you and your family healthy and comfortable all depends not only on the reliability of the equipment, but the home itself as well.

Let Precision Comfort Solutions be your guide in getting the information and the solutions you need to help you keep your home safe and comfortable.

Other companies will offer a subscription-based service that says ‘if you sign up for our program, we will maintain your system for free!’. If you have a breakdown, they’ll come by (for a fee) and repair the system for a discounted rate. While its good on paper there are some issues that we have found with this model:

  1. You’re gambling! By paying a certain amount over the standard ‘one-time maintenance fee’ you are betting against yourself, hoping your system has a breakdown so you can take advantage of the “lower prices”.
  2. The maintenance that is done, may not be up to your standards, possibly due to that company wanting to come back and perform repairs. If your service provider doesn’t thoroughly cover the system, it’s piping/duct work, and your home itself, they aren’t meeting your expectations. For example, a gas furnace should be a 2+ hour evolution. An oil-fired boiler should be a three-hour evolution.
  3. The timing for the maintenance is typically on you. If you forget to schedule your maintenance within the time frame set for you by the terms of the contract, you’re out of luck.
  4. “But what if I need service on the weekend? My provider won’t service me if I don’t have their contract.” Why should you have to subscribe to a contract that you may or may not use in order to have the peace-of-mind of having a breakdown addressed on a weekend. At Precision Comfort, while we may prioritize customers that have had maintenance done by us, we will NOT ignore or dismiss a family in need, especially during extreme periods in our climate. If we say we’re coming, we are 100% going to be there.

At Precision Comfort, we value our customers time and money. We also take immense pride in what we do and how we do it. As a result, we do NOT offer service contracts to our customers.

How does that make sense? Here’s what we offer.

  1. We offer a flat fee for maintenance, comparable to our competitors ‘one-time maintenance’ rate.
  2. We will thoroughly analyze your system and your home for any issues. If something comes up that doesn’t meet our standards, we will quote you for repairing any deficiencies at our regular rate.
  3. Additional ‘upgrades’ and ‘nice to have’ items are quoted at a discounted rate (15%). No pressure.
  4. After that, we put ‘our money where our mouth is’. We can (reasonably) guarantee that you will not have a breakdown during the season. If, however, you experience an unexpected breakdown, we will come by and repair the system for a 15% discount (30% on weekends and holidays).
  5. The way we see it, it’s like having the protection of an annual service contract, without having to ‘buy-in’ to the program, or gamble on it being useful.
  6. There is no renewal notice, no hidden fees, or late fees. We get it, life happens. While we do our best to send out reminders to all of our customers to have their systems serviced on a regular basis, we don’t strongarm you to ‘renew your subscription’ in order to ‘keep your system covered’.

First off, we don’t call it a ‘Service Contract’, we call it a maintenance agreement. But in short, yes, we do. But only for systems that were installed by Precision Comfort.

We’re not necessarily prioritizing people with new installations; the purpose of the maintenance agreement is to routinely perform maintenance on your new system and compare its performance to the data we took during our One-Of-A-Kind Commissioning Report. By offering this and inspiring people to get the necessary care for their investments, it ensures our customers that the system will perform at its best during its whole lifespan. We will use the historical data to help us follow trends with the system to address issues well in advance. We call this the Precision Comfort Care Plan.

  1. Reduced Service Call Fee – Usually our Service call fee is normally $100 and $85 at a discounted rate. The Precision Comfort Care Plan has a Service Call Fee of only $40! Weekends and holidays are $80, instead of $160 and $135.
  2. Annual maintenance is covered 100% by the agreement. There is no cost to you for any regular, annual maintenance.
  3. As usual, all parts are covered by their respective manufacturers for their allotted time periods. While parts are covered by the manufacturer, ALL LABOR IS COVERED 100% BY PRECISION COMFORT! See terms and conditions for details.
